About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven Product Manager – Accounting Platform to lead the development of our in-house accounting system from the ground up.

This is not a standard PM role.

You will own the design and build of a homegrown double-entry bookkeeping system, including a robust Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) engine, ensuring compliance, scalability, and auditability across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

You will work at the intersection of product, finance, engineering, and compliance, translating complex accounting principles into a scalable technical architecture.

What You’ll Do

🧠 Own the Accounting Product Vision

• Define and execute the product strategy for our internal accounting platform

• Design a scalable double-entry general ledger architecture

• Build a flexible chart of accounts structure

• Ensure multi-entity, multi-currency support

📊 Lead Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15)

• Design and implement automated revenue recognition logic

• Translate 5-step ASC 606 framework into product requirements

• Handle deferred revenue, contract modifications, performance obligations

• Ensure auditability and reporting transparency

⚙️ Build from Scratch

• Define ledger structure, journal entry logic, posting rules

• Develop subledgers (AR, AP, revenue, accruals)

• Design reconciliation workflows

• Own system integrity and financial data consistency

🤝 Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with Engineering and Founders

• Translate regulatory requirements into product specs

• Support audits and external reporting needs

• Act as the bridge between finance domain experts and engineers

📈 Reporting & Compliance

• Ensure IFRS / US GAAP compliance

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

• Enable financial reporting automation

• Design internal controls into the system

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

• 5+ years experience in Product Management (FinTech / Accounting / ERP)

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Double-entry bookkeeping principles

  • General ledger systems

  • ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition

  • IFRS / US GAAP fundamentals

• Experience building or implementing accounting/ERP systems

• Ability to translate complex accounting logic into technical specifications

• Strong analytical and structured thinking skills

Nice-to-Have

• CPA, RA, or equivalent accounting background

• Experience in SaaS and Usage revenue models

• Experience with subscription billing systems

• Experience in audit processes

• SQL or data background
